Re: Lillian Greenwood selected (#1)

Yes bit of a shock result given she had come third in the votes at ward meetings. Katrina's vote collapsed to 40 on first preference - less than she got at the ward meetings.  Christine beat Lilian on first ballot by 80 to 78 but more of Katrina's votes transfered to Lilian. Postal votes were probably decisive - 76 voted by post.

Re: Lillian Greenwood selected (#2)

From the outside, just reading previous threads here on the selection contest, I thought Bull was going to win as I got the impression she was ahead of Greenwood in the nominations process and then she would have got LG's second preferences allowing her to challenge Shawcroft hard. However in the end it was the opposite: Greenwood was ahead of Bull and won thanks to her second preferences.

Re: Lillian Greenwood selected (#3)

It's all about the transfers!

This weekend's Hull and Streatham results will be v interesting.

Re: (#4)

Lillian sounds excellent. Best of luck.

Re: Lillian Greenwood (#5)

It's a shame Christine didn't get in.  Best wishes to Lillian, though.  I hope Christine doesn't give up and tries somewhere else - she would be an asset to the PLP, as I'm sure Lillian will be also.

Based on the performances on the night, there may have been members who changed their 2nd choices from Bull, or Shawcroft to Greenwood.
